EMPPA – Association Day Brussels 2024

This year’s EMPPA (*) Association Day brought us to the heart of Europe: Brussels. Over two dynamic days, more than 50 partners from the moulded pulp value chain convened to tackle the critical issues shaping the future of our industry’s competitiveness, investments, and innovation.

The event featured engaging panel discussions, interactive workshops, and deep-dive sessions exploring EU strategic regulations, technological advancements, and market trends. From feedstock suppliers and manufacturers to service providers, recyclers, and customers of advanced “moulded pulp 2.0” packaging solutions, participants exchanged valuable insights and ideas aimed at driving sustainable growth.

Thanks to the excellent organization by the EMPPA team, this year’s event was a resounding success. A special thank you also goes to our speakers—Tahsin Dag, Fritz Rudolph Körper, Minna Huttunen, Peter Schmidt, Michael Laermann, Michael Marchuk, Anthony Kay, and Franz Jaeger—for sharing their expertise and forward-thinking perspectives.

Our very own Marthijn Broeils and Jan Ridderman returned from the event inspired, sharing incredible stories about the vibrant discussions and innovative solutions that were brought to light during Association Day.

This annual gathering continues to serve as the premier event for professionals in the European moulded pulp industry. By uniting industry leaders, producers, suppliers, and service providers, we’re collectively paving the way for a sustainable, forward-looking, and innovative future in moulded pulp packaging.

The European Moulded Pulp Producers Association – EMPPA – represents the interests of companies from the moulded fiber value chain. We are the key advocates of a level-playing field for circular packaging products made of moulded pulp that was sourced from agricultural feedstock, recycled paper and cardboard.

Founded in 2022 as a non-profit organization with headquarters in Berlin and a representation in Brussels, our association embraces the entire ecosystem of feedstock suppliers, moulded pulp producers, technology and service providers, recyclers and customers of advanced moulded pulp products.
