Proto Foodproof Pulp Packaging

 

Plastic is still an indispensable packaging material for many food manufacturers and retailers. The amount of plastic produced worldwide each year has exploded within the span of one human life: from 2 million tons in 1950 to 368 million tons in 20219. At the same time, plastic packaging contributes to environmental problems. They are made from oil and gas and hardly decay when they end up in the environment as litter. Every year, between 5 and 13 million tons of plastic enter the major oceans worldwide. The European Union has now published various laws and regulations prohibiting the use of plastic packaging. Against this background, Inmaco Solutions BV has successfully developed a prototype whereby food-proof pulp/cardboard packaging can be produced. These pulp/cardboard packaging must replace the existing plastic packaging! This has a huge positive impact on our living environment!
